Day 9
26 March 2003
This morning was a quiet and reflective one for me. I spent the
morning in contemplation of the glory of spring unfolding around me.
Despite heavy morning rain, the sun has come forth this afternoon
illuminating the beauty of life's return. The cherry blossoms and
flowers are in full bloom, and the sun is intoxicating. Friends have
been dropping by all day and gifting me with their company and sharing
healing energy.
I have, however, noticed a shift today in the reactions I've been
getting from passers-by. Some feel that we are "unpatriotic",
"ungrateful", and "parasites". While this saddens
me, my resolve is strengthened knowing that I am not alone in this
struggle or in the quest for unity amongst humanity. A man who grew up
in El Salvador told me that while his people were terrified of the
United States and its awesome capacity for destruction, they were also
heartened and touched by those in the U.S. that worked and rallied
tirelessly for peace during their darkest hours.
Stories such as these keep my flame bright, and my determination
strong. I believe that our impact on others, while often not immediately
apparent, can reverberate like stones on still water, and leave ripple
that extend outward farther than the eye can see. I believe that we all
came to this magnificent place called earth, so we can learn to
understand and come to the aid of all living things when need and
circumstances call.
I am eternally grateful for all who have come to my aid these past
ten days, and wish to thank the many more who are striving from the
shadows.
Bless you all,
