Latest news...

7/3/04: Sign up for beginning fencing camp August 2-6 from 9 to 2 p.m. for boys and girls ages 12-18!

The updated calendar for July is now online.

6/11/04: We still have room in our Wednesday afternoon (2-4 p.m.) Introductory Foil I class. Late registrations are okay until the third class meeting (June 23).

Intermediate Foil (defense) was so popular that we split the class in two. There are still a couple of slots open in each class. The last date to join this class will be June 17th (the fourth class meeting).

SCF will offer a beginning fencing camp August 2-6 from 9 to 2 p.m. for boys and girls ages 12-18.

We now have men's and women's dressing rooms! Fencers are welcome to leave their equipment in the dressing rooms (just make sure it's in a bag).

5/27/04: Summer fencing classes begin this week. We still have room in Introductory Foil I and II classes. Late registrations are okay until the third class meeting (the week of June 7). If you have questions, please e-mail Mr. Heggen.

Intermediate Foil (defense) is full, but please let us know if you would like to be put on a waiting list.

5/17/04: Thanks to all of you who helped us move yesterday. Great job! We still have work to do to get the space ready for classes next week, so we're having a work party on Thursday, May 20th from 6-9 p.m. If you can help out (or just want to take a look), please stop by!

A huge thanks to all of you who have pre-paid your dues and tuition for the month of June. Without your support, we could not have signed our lease. Classes (especially intermediate foil) are filling quickly....

5/13/04: We have found a space for a dedicated fencing studio. Our new address will be 354 Belmont Street NE, Salem, Oregon 97301. We need your support to make this work! Sign up for classes and membership now so we can sign a lease! Tell your friends: introductory and intermediate classes start the week of May 24, 2004. Our first day open will be Tuesday, May 25th, but please do not wait until the last minute to sign up -- we need $$ now!

The Salem YMCA Fencing Club is still alive, too -- just scaled way back so it can fit into its (hopefully) temporary home.

4/22/04: The SCF Spring Invitational was a great success. Complete results are now available. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this event happen.

3/23/04: Whitman College Fencing Club has been invited to participate in the upcoming spring invitational tournament.

3/18/04: Palm Beach Classical Fencing has informed us that they cannot attend the upcoming tournament due to high airfares.

2/27/04: The SCF Spring Invitational Fencing Tournament will be held April 17-18, 2004 at the Salem Family YMCA in downtown Salem, Oregon.

2/10/04: Congratulations to all of the fencers and clubs who participated in the SCF Winter Invitational (Jan. 24-25, 2004)! Complete results are now available.
