Here are the official results for the NOVICE foil event of the Salem Classical Fencing Spring Invitational Tournament, held on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at the Salem Family YMCA in Salem, Oregon.

This event was restricted to those fencers with less than 18 months of fencing experience. Fencers who have previously taken first place in a fencing tournament are prohibited from competing in the NOVICE class. Fencers ranged in age from 12 years old to 50-somethings. 

Honorable mention for Best Form went to Andrew Wilson of the Salem YMCA Fencing Studio.

Round #1 - Pools

The event began with the fencers split into two pools of fencers. Each pool fenced a round robin of 5-touch, 3-minute bouts.

Round #2 - Direct Elimination

The number in parentheses in front of each fencer's name is their seed order coming out of round #1. Nine fencers advanced out of round #1. Bouts in this round were 15-touch bouts fenced in three 3-minute periods with a one-minute rest between periods.
